Curtis Stone (born 4 November 1975, Melbourne, Australia) is a chef and television personality.

Background
Curtis attended Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School in Melbourne, Australia. His father, William is an accountant. He first started cooking with his grandmother at the age of five.

Career
Curtis was studying for Bachelor of Business before deciding his heart was in food. He worked at some top Australian restaurants before heading to London to work various restaurants there. In Australia, he debuted his cooking career at the tender age of 18 at the Savoy Hotel. On completing his qualifications as a chef, Curtis set off for Europe to experience life and the cuisines of Italy, France and Spain, before finally arriving in London. When he arrived in London, he started cooking alongside the renowned Marco Pierre White, the author of the cookbook “White Heat”, at The Café Royal and Mirabelle. He went on to become head chef at Marco’s Quo Vadis, receiving critical acclaim before moving to the exclusive Restaurant 301. Curtis said that he got his first big break after being featured in the book London on a Plate.

Television
Curtis returned briefly to Australia to make the cooking show/travelogue Surfing the Menu (on ABC TV) with another chef, Ben O’Donoghue. A second series of the show ran for longer than the first and was more successful.

No stranger to television, Curtis has appeared in a number of cooking programs in the UK, including Dinner in a Box, Good Food Live and Saturday Kitchen. He also hosted the first series of My Restaurant Rules; however, he was replaced by Ian Dickson for the second series. Stone can currently be seen on Take Home Chef on TLC in the United States. He is, at the same time, the main chef, the author, and the host of the new series.

Curtis has appeared twice on NBC’s The Today Show, the second appearance featured him visiting the home of host Meredith Vieira to teach her how to cook as her children had complained that she did not know how to. Curtis is scheduled to appear yet again for his third appearance on the show in the coming months in a feature on grilling and BBQ. He has also recently appeared on Martha Stewart’s show Martha also on NBC, preparing two of his signature dishes. He also appeared on Stacy London’s talk show “Fashionably Late.”

Other Projects
In 2008 Stone developed “Kitchen Solutions by Curtis Stone,” a line of kitchen utensils, accessories and glassware. He also has written a series of cookbooks, including Surfing the Menu: Two Chefs, One Journey: A Fresh Food Adventure and Cooking With Curtis: Easy, Everyday and Adventurous Recipes for the Home Cook. His latest book, Relaxed Cooking with Curtis Stone: Recipes to Put You in My Favorite Mood, will be released in April 2009.

Personal Life
He announced he is single while on Martha. He was listed as one of the sexiest men alive in People magazine in 2006 alongside George Clooney and Brad Pitt.
