Own a unique and adventurous collectible piece of history with this remarkable Signed Limited Edition lithograph that commemorates one of the most innovative literary collaborations ever created. This signed limited edition lithograph has become increasingly scarce, and is personally hand signed by all band members and Sam Barry.
A unique landmark among modern literary masters, the Rock Bottom Remainders were a collective rock band formed by some of the greatest living American authors. While the legendary Stephen King was the band’s most recognizable member, many celebrity writers joined the group, including celebrated humorist Dave Barry, acclaimed novelist Amy Tan, and The Simpsons creator Matt Groening. The lithograph measures approximately 11″ x 17″ and is printed on heavy, archival stock.
This joyful limited edition lithograph features a caricature of the band created by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist David Horsey in 2003 to commemorate the band’s 20th anniversary. The prints were hand signed in Los Angeles to celebrate the Rock Bottom Remainders’ final performances, by all 11 members of the band pictured in the caricature, plus Sam Barry, a one-time harmonica player and husband of the band’s founder. There are only 270 numbered copies of this extraordinary lithograph in existence. The Rock Bottom Remainders concept was conceived and founded by author and publicist Kathi Kamen Goldmark, who passed away of cancer in 2012 shortly before the band’s final performance. Goldmark is pictured in the caricature, and has also signed these limited edition lithographs.
About the Rock Bottom Remainders
The Rock Bottom Remainders took its self-mocking name from “remaindered book”, a publishing term referring to unsold copies of a publisher’s stock that are sold at reduced prices. The rock and roll band consisted of popular authors with a rotating membership, depending on availability. At one time or another, a total of 16 authors were part of the band’s lineup. Concerts performed by The Rock Bottom Remainders collectively raised more than $2 million for charity.
